It is amazing to me how fast time seems to fly! As a child I heard that expression all the time but I never truly understood it until recently. Days seem to blend into weeks, and then months, and then years if you do not take the time to look up and enjoy what you have been given. I am blessed to have three beautiful, talented, and spunky children. I was also lucky enough to have married my best friend who has stood by my side for 12 years as my husband. With the amount of changes we have faced during our marriage, it should not surprise me how time can just slip by if we are not conscious during our every day life.
Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to get away for an entire day and enjoy some quality time with my hubby in Monterey, CA. As I write this post, it seems hard to believe that it has already been two weeks since that fabulous day. Having a day to myself without a schedule, or anyone, or anything to define my day was definitely what the doctor ordered. As a mother of three, my life is definitely structured by schedules. I am sure there are many of you out there who can relate. When to get the kids up and ready for school, when to feed the youngest and put her down for a nap, when to pick the kids up from school, when to take the kids to their different activities, yada, yada, yada. Whew! It's exhausting sometimes just to think about it. Well, that is why I thoroughly enjoyed my day off to wander aimlessly around the bay area.
Bringing my camera was a must! Even though it took up most of my carry on space. It was definitely worth it. I'm so glad that my hubby was willing to go exploring with me and humored me as we sometimes had to wait for the perfect shot. I have included some of the images I captured along the way. It was nice to take the time to look up and not get lost in the everyday tasks that can sometimes consume my life. I am thankful for my one day in Monterey.
